The Harvest, as written in the Reloaded book, never happened. The Templars, devastated by the loss of Simon to his mysterious sickness and with no one else to take the reins of leadership, have seen their numbers dwindle and now number less than a hundred. Without their steadying presence, the other factions could never come together to create the Iron Alliance. When the Combine and Cult of Doom attacked Junkyard on New Year’s Day, the only ones standing with them were the Schismatics and the Convoy. The Convoy suffered heavy losses and were eliminated almost to a man (and car). The Schismatics were able to hold the tide against the majority of the Combine’s automatons, but suffered heavy losses and have not been able to distinguish themselves from the green robes or make a real step towards mutant acceptance. The Reckoners and Raven have not been seen.
Onto this stage steps your heroes. To a man, all of you found yourself spending time in Blackleaf Correctional Facility in Montana, a prison that is a mystical dead zone, until a strange earthquake seems to have torn down the walls and freed you. Now, the fate of the Wasted West, which is darker than ever, is in your hands.
You must choose whether you are Innocent, Guilty, or if you convert from Classic, you are a Trump. If Innocent, you create your character as normal but use the Born a Hero rule, which allows you to ignore the rank requirements when selecting Edges at character creation. If Guilty, you may draw cards to create your character using the Classic Generation rules. If you’re a Trump, you convert your classic stats and have the option to take the Veteran of the Whichever West edge that applies for free.
